Better Inside EP 32

Better Inside Newsletter

Hello Adventurers!

Writing this newsletter with a little bit of procrastination, but I am feeling very well, just decluttering lots of things and focusing on one thing in my life. I remember the book I read that created a good impact on me called "The Courage to be Disliked." A young man who is debating about life; the one sentence I always remember from that book is, "The first step to change is knowing." Knowing about yourself, knowing about your behavior, and life philosophy—most people die without knowing themselves. Don't become like that; nurture your solitude time with reflection to ask better questions to yourself.

I recently started watching anime in my life; someone in my circle introduced me to an anime show called Jujutsu Kaisen. What a brilliant show it was! I was hooked after watching and understood how the anime characters are going to develop in each episode. The show is about Jujutsu fighting, but they added some curse energy techniques which are the cherry on top. Now I understand that sometimes we need more fiction than reality, that's a way to live more meaningfully when we endorse our curiosity in fictional characters.

I hope you all don't lose your curiosity, enjoy some fiction reading like novels, comics, etc., whatever suits you. But try once, you will love it.

Recommendations:

  • Read "The Courage To Be Disliked."

  • Watch anime if you like it.

  • Take sunlight daily after waking up first in the morning.

Love,

Ammar

Video Of The Week :

Dr. K discusses the transformative potential of enduring intense boredom, emphasizing the importance of resisting external numbing. Reaching the end of thought involves slowing down and recognizing internal impulses, leading to heightened sensitivity and the ability to craft a life aligned with personal values.

Dr. K advises against seeking validation from external sources, urging viewers to listen to themselves. They argue that the purpose of life is individualized, residing within, and understanding one's desires is crucial. Aligning life with purpose not only makes challenges worthwhile but also enhances overall life enjoyment and fulfillment.

Juicy Reads to Check Out: 📰

Some 8.3% of workers don’t brush their teeth when working from home, according to newly released data from WFH Research.

Perhaps more alarmingly, 5.1% don’t brush their teeth even when going into an office. 😆

I don't feel unproductive anymore, thanks to the "Daily Highlight" method. The foundation of the daily highlight method is based on four steps.

1️⃣ The first step involves selecting one daily highlight to focus on deciding what you want to make time for.

The highlight of the day may be taking a class, closing a deal, playing with your kids or walking in a garden. Your highlight might contain various steps to enable you to complete the task. You don’t have to do a single thing in a day, your highlight will just be a top priority.

This will allow your frame of mind to be proactive and positive.

2️⃣ The second step is to get into laser mode to beat distractions and make time for your highlight.

Distractions are literally everywhere around and won’t be leaving any time soon. You also can’t throw away your gadgets and avoid technology completely.

3️⃣ The third step involves charging your brain with sleep, food, exercise, and face–to–face time.

In the twenty-first century, our default lifestyle has discarded our evolutionary history and damaged our energy. The good news is that this can be fixed by implementing simple shifts to get immediate energy that you need.

4️⃣ The fourth step involves taking notes before you go to bed. This is to enable you to refine or drop your current tactics of making time.

Reflect on your energy level, the progress of your highlight and the enjoyable things that you did that day. Eventually, you will develop a customized daily system that is best for your unique routines, habits, brain, body, priorities, and goals.

Tweet of the Week:

Reminder:

I used to read books to learn a lot. Now, after reading for years, I focus on getting wisdom and using scientific methods to improve life.

Some people just read for pleasure, saying they finished 100 books in a year, but when asked if they apply what they learned, they're lost.

The same goes for those who think self-help books are a waste of time. Any book is a waste if you don't want to learn and use it in your life.

No single book has all the answers to life's problems. Nowadays, when people ask me for book recommendations, I just ask about their current problems and what they want to improve.

I tell them to spend 30 minutes in a bookstore, find a book that matches their issues, and learn to solve their own problems instead of relying on recommendations.
