Better Inside EP #10

Better Inside Newsletter

Hi there, readers!

I recently made the decision to quit my remote job and focus on my solopreneurship and creator-educator journey. I'm excited about this new chapter in my life, but it's been a bit weird. After updating my LinkedIn profile, I've been contacted by a number of recruiters offering me full-time jobs. I've updated my profile to reflect that I'm not interested in full-time or part-time employment, but I'm curious to know how others have been approached when they've made a similar decision.

I'm not against employment. I've seen people make great lives for themselves with traditional jobs. I have friends who work 9-to-5 jobs and still have time for sports, family, and friends. When I asked them if they consider themselves successful, they said, "I'm satisfied and happy in my life." They acknowledged that there's always room for improvement, but they're content with their current situation.

I believe it's time to change our perspective on success. Success doesn't have to mean big business. It can mean anything that makes you happy and fulfilled. If you're considering a career change, I encourage you to go for it. You might be surprised at what you can achieve.

My recent LinkedIn update.

This week, I explored different energies in my life and read the amazing book "My Story by Lewis Hamilton." It was an emotional roller coaster for me, and I highly recommend it to others. My key takeaways from the book are mentioned in this post. 👇️

Productivity Tools

  1. Otter.ai: Otter.ai is a transcription tool that automatically converts your voice recordings or live meetings into text. It's useful for taking meeting notes, creating transcripts, and searching for specific information within recordings.

  2. Airtable: Airtable combines the features of a spreadsheet and a database, making it easy to organize and track information. It's highly customizable and can be used for project management, content planning, CRM, and more.

  3. Crystal: Crystal is an AI-powered tool that provides personality insights and communication advice. It analyzes publicly available data about a person (such as LinkedIn profiles or public social media) and generates suggestions on how to best communicate with them based on their communication style.

  4. Calendly: Calendly is a scheduling tool that uses AI to help you schedule meetings and appointments. It syncs with your calendar and allows others to book time slots based on your availability, eliminating the back-and-forth of scheduling emails.

Must watch movie

Vanilla Sky is a complex and thought-provoking film that will stay with you long after you have seen it. It is a film that will make you think about the nature of reality, the meaning of life, and the power of love. If you are looking for a film that will challenge you and make you think, then Vanilla Sky is the film for you.

Two Mind-Boggling Studies

  1. Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, have found that people who are bilingual are better at multitasking than people who are monolingual. This is because bilinguals have to constantly switch between two languages, which requires them to be more focused and manage their attention more effectively.

  2. A study published in the journal Science found that people who are exposed to nature are happier and healthier than people who are not. The study found that people who live in green areas have lower blood pressure, lower stress levels, and a lower risk of obesity and depression.Templates for your work and life discovery
